Oil prices rise as Israel warns invasion of Rafah in Gaza may be imminent
West Texas Intermediate crude for June delivery rose 37 cents, or 0.5%, to settle at $78.48 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange after trading as high as $79.09. That marked the first gain in six sessions, according to Dow Jones Market Data.

Oil futures rose on Monday after Saudi Arabia hiked June crude prices for most regions and as the prospect of a quick agreement for a Gaza ceasefire deal appeared slim, reviving fears that combat between Hamas and Israeli forces will resume soon.

Brent crude futures gained 51 cents, or 0.6 per cent, to $83.47 a barrel while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures were at $78.64 a barrel, up 53 cents, or 0.7 per cent.
